Volume engine = 2.5L I5 gas (170 hp, timing CHAIN); a 2.0L TDI diesel (with DSG) was also offered - the TDI adds fuel filter, DPF regen, EGR, glow plugs and the CP4 HPFP catastrophic-failure risk, and most 2009-2014 TDIs were later bought back in the dieselgate settlement. Full synthetic, 10k/1yr; severe ~5k.
