Mclaren 570GT maintenance: the schedule, the costs, the traps

A supercar (grand touring coupe) with a gas powertrain. Below: the service intervals with real cost ranges, the repairs 570GT owners actually report, and when a fleet operator would sell. Same data Carlyle uses to score fleet buys.

Service schedule

What it needs, and what that runs

Known repair windows

What 570GT owners actually run into

Mileage ranges where these repairs typically show up. Buying above a window is not automatically a pass - it just needs to be priced in.

IRIS infotainment freezing / touchscreen failure

low severity

Any mileage · $1,500-$4,000

Infotainment - slow/laggy IRIS unit, navigation and Bluetooth glitches are the most common owner complaint

12V battery drain when parked

low severity

Any mileage · $300-$700

Heavy electronics parasitic draw; trickle charger strongly recommended for storage

Coolant hose / radiator hose-clamp leaks

medium severity

20,000-60,000 mi · $1,000-$3,000

Water pump/coolant hose seepage common on M838-family V8; long rear-mounted coolant runs

SSG dual-clutch wear / gear-selection fault

high severity

30,000-60,000 mi · $5,000-$10,000

Transmission - clutch pack wear or the known even-gear-only selection fault requiring recalibration/flush

Windscreen / lightweight glass stress cracks

medium severity

10,000-40,000 mi · $2,000-$4,500

Thin lightweight glass prone to stress fractures; OEM screen expensive

Operator notes

Sports Series, discontinued 2020. Mid-mounted 3.8L M838TE twin-turbo V8 with timing CHAIN (no belt) - no belt replacement interval. McLaren specifies annual service every 12 months or 10,000 mi regardless of mileage; uses fully synthetic oil. Service is largely TIME-based since these cars accrue low miles. Brake fluid every 2 years, major service every 3 years/30k mi. Carbon-ceramic-optional; 7-speed SSG dual-clutch. Softer GT-tuned suspension and side-opening glass hatch vs 570S.

When the smart money sells

On fleet math, a gas 570GT retires around 95,000 miles - but the exit window opens earlier here: SSG dual-clutch wear / gear-selection fault risk window ($5,000-$10,000) opens ~30,000 mi. Carlyle's garage tracks this per car, against your actual odometer.

Cost ranges are typical US independent-shop estimates and vary by region and condition. Modeling, not mechanic advice - always confirm against your car's service records.
