Jaguar F-PACE maintenance: the schedule, the costs, the traps

A midsize luxury SUV with a gas powertrain. Below: the service intervals with real cost ranges, the repairs F-PACE owners actually report, and when a fleet operator would sell. Same data Carlyle uses to score fleet buys.

Service schedule

What it needs, and what that runs

IntervalServiceTypical cost

32,000 mi / 24 moOil + filter; engine air filter; cabin filter; brake fluid flush; tire rotation; inspection$420-$680
60,000 miSpark plugs; oil service; air + cabin filters; AWD PTU/rear diff fluid; brake service; 48V mild-hybrid check (I6)$550-$900
100,000 miEngine coolant change; ZF 8HP transmission fluid + pan; transfer case/diff fluids; supercharger check (SVR); full inspection$800-$1,300

Known repair windows

What F-PACE owners actually run into

Mileage ranges where these repairs typically show up. Buying above a window is not automatically a pass - it just needs to be priced in.

Ingenium 2.0T/diesel timing chain + tensioner

high severity

80,000-120,000 mi · $2,000-$3,500

Early (2016-2019) 2.0 chains stretch from oil dilution/DPF regen; cold rattle is the tell. Revised tensioners from ~2020 improved it substantially.

5.0L V8 supercharged (SVR): timing chain, water pump, S/C coupler

high severity

80,000-120,000 mi · $3,000-$6,000

AJ133 V8 shares Jaguar's tensioner/guide and mechanical water-pump weaknesses; supercharger coupler rattle common. Big-ticket on the SVR.

Water pump / thermostat

medium severity

60,000-100,000 mi · $700-$1,200

Coolant loss/overheating; recurrent Jaguar wear item across engines.

AWD PTU / rear differential

medium severity

90,000-130,000 mi · $1,500-$2,500

Neglected sealed fluid leads to whine and driveline wear.

Infotainment (Pivi/InControl) + 12V battery drain

low severity

Any mileage · $300-$1,500

Freezes, reboots, parasitic draw; often software or 12V battery.

Operator notes

Timing CHAIN, no belt. Engines: 2.0L turbo (P250/P300), 3.0L I6 mild-hybrid (48V, P340/P400), P400e plug-in hybrid, and 5.0L supercharged V8 (SVR). OEM oil interval ~16k/12mo but independents advise 7,500-10,000 mi given the chain/oil-dilution history. This was Jaguar's last combustion model - production ended December 19, 2025 (final car a black F-PACE SVR).

When the smart money sells

On fleet math, a gas F-PACE retires around 95,000 miles - but the exit window opens earlier here: Ingenium 2.0T/diesel timing chain + tensioner risk window ($2,000-$3,500) opens ~80,000 mi. Carlyle's garage tracks this per car, against your actual odometer.

Cost ranges are typical US independent-shop estimates and vary by region and condition. Modeling, not mechanic advice - always confirm against your car's service records.
