What it means for a host
Pricing anywhere in the $41-$57 band puts a car squarely in the mainstream; anything above $57 puts it in the top quarter of the market. Supply is heaviest around the Nissan Sentra and Toyota Corolla, both sitting at the $41 floor of the typical band, so that end of the range is crowded. The Chevrolet Corvette's median of $120 shows the ceiling for specialty cars, while the Kia K4 and Volkswagen Jetta each land at $52 and appear in both the supply leaders and top earners, suggesting that mid-band pricing can still generate strong trip volume. Chicago's median matches the national class median exactly, and it trails San Francisco by $10 and New York by $8, so demand here doesn't carry the same premium as those coastal markets.
