Plug-in hybrid (extended-range EV): DOES take oil changes on the 1.5L (Gen 2, 2016-2019) gas range-extender, but because the engine rarely runs, GM allows oil service on a time basis (~2 years) if the oil-life monitor hasn't tripped; also runs an engine-maintenance mode. Regenerative braking makes friction brakes last very long, so watch for caliper seizure from disuse rather than pad wear. Multiple separate coolant loops (engine, battery, power electronics).
