Cadillac ATS-V maintenance: the schedule, the costs, the traps
A compact high-performance sports coupe (sedan ended 2018) with a gas powertrain. Below: the service intervals with real cost ranges, the repairs ATS-V owners actually report, and the mileage windows worth buying ahead of - whether you are keeping it for yourself or putting it to work.

Known repair windows
What ATS-V owners actually run into
Mileage ranges where these repairs typically show up. Buying above a window is not automatically a pass - it just needs to be priced in.

Cost to keep
What it costs to own, by how long you keep it
Scheduled servicing only, from a brand-new ATS-V at 12,000 miles a year. Insurance, fuel, tires and depreciation are yours to add - this is the part the shop charges you for.
| You keep it | Odometer | Servicing | Per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 year | 12,000 mi | $150 | $13 |
| 3 years | 36,000 mi | $670 | $19 |
| 5 years | 60,000 mi | $1,895 | $32 |
| 7 years | 84,000 mi | $2,415 | $29 |
| 10 years | 120,000 mi | $4,710 | $39 |
| 15 years | 180,000 mi | $7,230 | $40 |
Per-month can dip as the horizon lengthens - a major service lands in one year and then averages out across all the months after it. The left column is what you actually spend.
Beyond the schedule, the first big-ticket item this ATS-V is known for is Clutch wear (6-speed manual, track use) from about 30,000 miles ($2,000-$3,500). It is a range, not a certainty - but it is the number to have in your head at the dealership.
Operator notes
464-hp 3.6L twin-turbo LF4; 6-speed manual or 8-speed auto. Timing-chain. High-performance = shorter brake-fluid and diff-fluid intervals; track owners flush brake fluid each event. Was replaced by CT4-V.
When the smart money sells
Keeping it yourself, there is no cutoff - the table above runs to fifteen years. On fleet math, where a car has to keep earning, a gas ATS-V retires around 95,000 miles. Carlyle's garage tracks this per car, against your actual odometer.
Cost ranges are typical US independent-shop estimates and vary by region and condition. Modeling, not mechanic advice - always confirm against your car's service records.
